  • CAC Labour Day Classic - Football!

    Calgary Area Council is offering tickets to the Labour Day Classic Football Game on September 5th, 2016.  Exclusive to Calgary Area AUPE membership! #whateverittakes

    Tickets for the first 1000 are $33/ea (includes at $10 concession voucher!).  Ticket requests beyond the first 1000 will be sold at $53/ea.  Sales end July 31st or when sold out (whichever comes first).

    You will be contacted following your form submission to connect with either Jessica Daigle (jessica.daigle2@gmail.com) or Donald Walker (walkerdg@ucalgary.ca). Cash will be collected before your ticket can be confirmed.  These requests will be based on first come first served (provide cash and your ticket is reserved).

BBQ's 50/50 prize winners

Hello Local 52,

Well we had two very successful events once again. The weather did not let
us down which we always appreciate.

We collected 6 bins of food for the Campus Food Bank.
We collected $264.60 in donations for the Campus Food Bank.
Amazing generosity once again from our Local 52 Membership.

Now here are the number for the 50/50 you have been looking for.

Main Campus collected $767.00 of which 1/2 goes to the winner $383.50.

Chapter AGMS

It is your time to get involved once again. Local 52 is only as strong as
we make it so we need to continue to have great people come and look after
our affairs, have leadership opportunities to sit on AUPE, Local, and
University Committees.  How can you help you ask?

Your AGM is where your Council Representatives, Council Alternates,
Convention Nominees, Convention Alternates are elected, and last year's
business is presented.

Not familiar with all this then come and see what it is all about talk to
one of your current Council Representatives or check theses links:

Meeting is scheduled for 12:00-13:30. Bus will leave Foothills Campus
11:50 and return 13:20.

Meeting is scheduled for 12:00-13:30. Bus will leave Foothills Campus 11:50
and return 13:20.

TRAVEL:
Bus from Foothills Campus will depart 11:50a.m. from North Loop HSC
(Health Sciences) building. Return Bus will depart from MSC at 1:20p.m.
and return to HSC at 1:30p.m..
Lunch for first 50 will be provided and some great Door prizes will also
be given away.
If you require transportation from DTC, Spy Hill, Kananaskis, etc. to
attend these meetings please contact your Chapter Chair.

Time to attend these meetings is recognized by the University and extra
time has been recognized by the University for your attendance.
Information
to the Faculties and Departments regarding these meetings has been
distributed so asking for time off to attend should not pose a problem.
Local 52 does recognize the possible operational need for some
areas to limit the number of attendees from any given area. Hence the
scheduling of these meetings during reading week. However ensure you give
as much advance notice of your intention to attend these meetings to
ensure planning is put in place for any coverage necessary during your
absence. Requesting this time does not guarantee the University will grant
this time however it should not be seen as an unreasonable request for you
to get involved and grow with the University and Local 52.

UNABLE TO ATTEND:
If for any reason you are unable to attend, you can submit your intentions
for nomination in writing (yes e-mail accepted) to your Chapter Chair (see
above). Council Representative, Council Alternate,
Convention Delegate, Convention Alternate, etc. If you have any questions
please direct them towards your Chapter Chair for further information.
Again please give some of your time, energy, and ideas to help make us a
stronger organization.
